Multiple outlets have reported that the John Wick star died from natural causes, days after he was forced to pull out of the New York City premiere of the latest film from the franchise during a press tour.
His body was reportedly found in his Studio City home in California.
TMZ was the first to report his death.
While best known for his roles on the big and small screen, Reddick also made a name for himself among gamers, acting and voicing prominent characters in high-profile video games such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Destiny, and Quantum Break.
During his six-year stint playing Baltimore Police Lt. Cedric Daniels, Reddick brought to life several of the issues plaguing law enforcement in his hometown city and surrounding areas, highlighting poverty, a failing school system, corrupt cops, drugs, weapons, and street crime.
As recently as Wednesday, Reddick was still active on social media, posting photos of himself with a gaggle of dogs, though he missed press appearances over the week.
Reddick was an accomplished musician who studied the craft at the University of Rochester before he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama in 1994.
There was an outpouring of support shared for Reddick following the announcement of his death by members of Hollywood and the entertainment community.
Reddick was born on June 7, 1962 in Baltimore to Dorothy Gee and Solomon Reddick. He attended the Friends School of Baltimore and studied music at the Peabody Preparatory Institute.
